Sylvia Stone, Mezzo-soprano
Sylvia Stone is a Professor of Voice (Mezzo-soprano) at University of Illinois. After making her professional debut in Germany in the role of Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro, Professor Stone made her home in that country. She was the leading mezzo-soprano with the opera companies of Lübeck, Krefeld and Mönchengladbach. She guested in opera and concert in Stuttgart, Cologne, Freiburg, Heidelberg, Hamburg, Berlin, Kiel, and other German cities. Additional engagements took her to cities in Holland, Switzerland, and Iceland. Her wide operatic repertoire includes the roles of Dorabella in Mozart's Così fan tutte, the lead roles in Bizet's Carmen and Gluck's Orfeo, Prince Orlofsky in Johann Strauss' Die Fledermaus, The Composer in Richard Strauss' Ariadne auf Naxos, and Azucena in Verdi's Il Trovatore
Bruce Fowler, Tenor
Tenor Bruce Fowler is considered a premiere interpreter of the music of the Italian Bel canto, Baroque and classic eras. He has sung with many of the world’s leading theatres, including: Paris Opera, La Scala, Salzburg Festival, Lyric Opera of Chicago, New York City Opera, Carnegie Hall and the theatres of Berlin, Barcelona, Rome, Montreal, Vienna and Brussels. He continues his commitment to the development of young singers as Assistant Professor of Voice at Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas.
Manfred Mayrhofer, Conductor
Austrian conductor Manfred Mayrhofer is one of the most revered maestri in the Concert/Opera field in present times. He has demonstrated his master skills, conducting such prestigious orchestras as: Bruckner Orchestra Linz (Chief Resident Conductor), Volksoper Vienna, Cologne Opera, Landestheater Linz, Opera Heidelberg; and the almost too numerous to mention opera companies of Berlin, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Duesseldorf, Bonn, Wiesbaden, Mannheim, Braunschweig. David Asher Brown, Conductor
David Asher Brown is an outstanding young pianist/composer and conductor who joins the AAMA after his successes with the Franco-American Vocal Acadeemy as assistant conductor and coach for Orphee aux Enfers, by Offenbach. He has impressive conducting credits for one of his age, presiding over chamber and choral ensembles. His compositions draw on a wide and diverse range of influences including Ashkenazi Jewish music, Balinese Gamelan, Early Music, Minimalism, and Jazz. Alan E. Hicks
Alan Hicks is a Renaissance Man in the field of opera: Stage Director, Producer, Singer, Actor, Choreographer and Teacher. His operatic repertoire is vast for one so young, encompassing more tan forty operas, produced by such distinguished organizations as: Chautauqua Opera, Austin Lyric Opera, Central City Opera, Tulsa Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Opera in the Ozarks; as well as the Universities: University of Texas, Sam Houston State University, University of Iowa and the
University of Alabama,
